Cast changes in the West End production of LOVE NEVER DIES

From March 7th Celia Graham will take over the role of Christine Daaé, David Thaxton will be on as Raoul and Hayley Flaherty as Meg Giry. Ramin Karimloo and Liz Robertson stay in the Show as Tha Phantom and Madame Giry.

As LOVE NEVER DIES is about to celebrate its first year in the West End, the show will receive new cast members from 7th March 2011. David Thaxton will join the company as Raoul replacing Joseph Millson and Hayley Flaherty will replace Summer Strallen as Meg Giry.

Sierra Boggess, who originated the role of Christine Daaé, will play her last performance in LOVE NEVER DIES on 5th March. She will be replaced by Celia Graham, who was also an original cast member as an alternate of Christine. Ramin Karimloo will continue in the show as The Phantom, Liz Robertson as Madame Giry and Adam Pearce as Squelch. Karimloo will stay in the production for six months, until 3rd September 2011, doing six performances each week. His alternate, Tam Mutu, will replace him twice a week.

There will also joining the company Tracey Penn as Fleck replacing Niamh Perry and Charles Brunton as Gangle replacing Jami Reid-Quarrell. Jack Costello, Daniel Dowling and Harry Polden will share the role of Gustave.

The company also includes Nick Blair, Dale Branston, Abigail Brodie, Kieran Brown, Nick Crossley, Natalie Edmunds, Chris Gage, Lucy van Gasse, Mirela Golinska, Daniel Gourlay, Simon Ray Harvey, Grace Holdstock, Lucinda Lawrence, Vanessa Leagh-Hicks, Louisa Lydell, Lisa Mathieson, David McMullan, Colette Morrow, Ashley Nottingham, Mira Ormala, Rae Piper, Alexa-Jayne Robinson, Andrew Rothwell, Simon Storey, Tim Walton and Zara Warren.

Celia Graham played the role of Christine Daaé in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at West End’s Her Majesty’s Theatre. She has also played Cosette in LES MISERABLES (Palace Theatre) and Maria in WEST SIDE STORY (Prince of Wales Theatre).

David Thaxton was Giorgio in the recent Donmar Warehouse production of Stephen Sondheim’s PASSION. Thaxton made his West End debut as Enjolras in LES MISÉRABLES (Queen’s Theatre). He has previously appeared in different concerts and regional productions as Norwich’s SWEENEY TODD.

Hailey Flaherty has just ended the UK Tour of ROCKY HORROR SHOW performing the role of Janet Weiss. She has worked in the West End productions of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, and in the Open Air Theatre production of THE BOYFRIEND. She has also taken part of the tour productions of GREASE, CHICAGO and MAMMA MIA!.

LOVE NEVER DIES opened at London’s Adelphi Theatre on 9th March 2010, receiving mixed reviews. The production, directed by Jack O’Brien, with choreography by Jerry Mitchell and scenic and costume design by Bob Crowley, was revised and reopened nine months after its opening with some significant changes in December 2010. LOVE NEVER DIES has original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Glenn Slater, book by Webber, Slater and Ben Elton and additional lyrics by Charles Hart.

On the 7th February LOVE NEVER DIES received seven Laurence Olivier Awards 2011 Nominations: Best New Musical; Best Actor in a Musical (Ramin Karimloo); Best Actress in a Musical (Sierra Boggess); Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Summer Strallen); Best Lighting Design (Paule Constable; Best Set Design (Bob Crowley) and Best Costume Design (Bob Crowley).

LOVE NEVER DIES was due to open on Broadway this season 2010-2011, but this opening has been postponed indefinitely. Instead, a new production of LOVE NEVER DIES will arrive at Melbourne on 29th May 2011 with a totally renewed creative team led by director Simon Phillips.
