It all began with a dream … The dream of seeing young performers from West End and Broadway in concert on Spanish stages comes true for a second time. Last April, Julie Atherton  captivated Barcelona audiences with her unique concert; next October another West End artist will visit L´Auditori with the same purpose: Hannah Waddingham, who was one the five top voted performers among todoMUSICALES users.

Hannah Waddingham made a few days ago her last performance as The Witch in the Open Air Theatre acclaimed production of Sondheim´s INTO THE WOODS. Waddingham will visit our country to  give a concert entitled  ‘Hannah Waddingham sings... todoMUSICALES’. The event will be at the Auditori´s Sala Oriol Martorell in Barcelona on Thursday, October 28 at 21.30h.

The concert will also feature three guest artists, who are Spanish musical theatre professionals. They will sing a duet with the British actress, and again, todoMUSICALES users will be able to suggest who these guest artists should be.

Hannah Waddingham has received two Laurence Olivier Award nominations: the last one this year for her performance as Desiree Armfeldt in Trevor Nunn´s production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC; the first one for her performance as Lady of the Lake in MONTY PHYTON’S SPAMALOT. She originated this last role in the West End production of the show, before taking over in it in the original Broadway production. Other West End roles include Christine Warner  in THE BEAUTIFUL GAME; Satan in TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT; and Rizzo in GREASE. She also took part of the UK tour productions of BAD GIRLS, SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ and THE LIKES OF US.

The British actress performed six solo concerts at the Menier Chocolate Factory last March.  The repertoire of those concerts will be released on a new album later this year. Hannah Waddingham has performed in many concerts in London, including the 2009 edition of ‘Christmas in New York’ and the charity gala ‘Grateful’ this september.

In this unique concert in Barcelona, Hannah Waddingham will be accompanied at the piano by David Randall. Randall is currently the musical director of CLOSER THAN EVER at the Landor Theatre in London. At this same theatre, he has been musical director of other shows as DO I HEAR A WALTZ? or A CLASS ACT. David Randall has co-directed and musically directed all of the shows in the Notes from New York series, including  THE LAST FIVE YEARS and the instalments of ‘Christmas in New York’. His other credits as musical director include ‘A Spoonful of Stiles & Drewe’ at Her Majesty´s Theatre or  Julie Atherton´s new album `No Space For Air´ concert presentation at the Delfont Room last june.
