Her professional debut was touring with the musical OKLAHOMA! in Europe in the role of Ado Annie!

Other Theatre credits include the role of Ms. Jones in the musical BLOOD BROTHERS –her Broadway debut-where she also understudied the role of Linda. In 1995, Butler created the role of Belle for the Toronto production of DISNEY´S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, where she was nominated for the DORA Award for her performance, and eventually transferred to Broadway. After playing Belle for over two years, she left the musical in July 1997 and she moved over to LES MISÉRABLES to play the coveted role of Eponine. In 2001, Butler played the love interest Shelley in the acclaimed Off Broadway original musical BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL. In February 2002 Butler was cast as Penny Pingleton in HAIRSPRAY. Following the end of her Hairspray contract in July 2003, Butler was cast in the role of Audrey in the first-ever Broadway production of the musical, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. In May 2008, Butler released her first solo album, ‘Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust’.

Currently she is performing the role of Kira, in Broadway’s XANADU.

- The first musical you saw and/or most impressed you:  ANNIE is what made me become an actress!!

- You would like to make a duet with?  Harry Connick Jr.  I love him!! singing Singing anything!!

- Webber o Sondheim? Sondheim

- London or New York? I like them both, I have family in NY, so I have to pick that.

- Do you keep the programmes of the musicals you watch? I do!

- An unforgettable moment: (as a performer and/or as a spectator): I have been lucky enough to have been in two shows with Jackie Hoffman, HAIRSPRAY and XANADU, and she occasionally will improvise something with the audience.  My favorite one with Xanadu has been when there were West point cadets on stage in
uniform, and she went up and kissed one of them, and said thank you for serving our country.  It was very funny!!

- Do you have any superstitions before the opening night?  I don´t decorate my dressing room until after the reviews.

- A musical character that you would like to BE (not perform):  I would like to be Mary Poppins.  I really like children and I think it would be fun to fly!!

- A character of your opposite sex that you would like to perform:  Jean Valjean in LES MISERABLES

- What do you like best/least about your work?  I like that in rehearsals I am so free, and willing to try anything, I wish I was that free in performances.  I mean it´s different every night, but I could never do what Jackie does.  I would be petrified to improvise.

- What is your favorite musical movie? WEST SIDE STORY

- The last CD/DVD related to Musicals that you have bought is: ‘Spring Awakening’

- What is your favorite line from a musical: not sure

- Agree or disagree with TV Shows finding new Musical Stars: I think there is a place for everything. It wouldn´t be great if every part were cast like that, but if it brings more attention to theater, why not?

- You feel proud of: my daughter!  She is awesome!!  I am also proud that i learned to skate for Xanadu!  I thought I was going to be fired for the first few weeks of rehearsal, because I couldn´t think about acting, all I could think about was getting around the stage on skates.

- Of this moment you’re living as an actress, the most important thing to you is: being a good mom

- Other projects you are working on:  Right now I´m just doing XANADU and promoting my cd.
