Jack Shalloo, who is playing the role of Tony Lumpkin in the Howard Goodall and Charles Hart musical THE KISSING DANCE at London’s Jermyn Street Theatre, will release his solo debut album ‘London Soul’ on 10th May 2011.

The young Londoner performer tells us about ‘London Soul’: “The album is 9 original songs written by me and Spesh Maloney… and one song by Beth Morrissey... It´s soulful folk with cheeky lyrics! There is one song from the musical DEPARTURE LOUNGE called “Picture Book” and a beautiful ballad by Jonathan Eio of his album ‘New Beginnings’. It wasn´t hard to pick all these tracks they all came very naturally!”

Jack Shalloo is most known for playing the role of Pete in Dougal Irvine’s musical DEPARTURE LOUNGE at London’s Waterloo East Theatre. Jack tells us how the idea of recording the album came up: “I wrote the album because I had loads of lyrics come to me everytime I was in the shower...I wrote two songs and then decided I should write more. Then I had loads of songs just sitting there so I thought maybe I should get them out there and see what people think. I had something to say and I said it!” Jack also explains to us that this album means a lot to him: “It means a lot as it´s been a year of writing and recording... I just hope people like it!”

The young performer also tells us about his current projects: “I´m currently in THE KISSING DANCE at Jerymn Street Theatre Piccadilly. It´s a musical based on ´she Stoops To Conquer´ it´s a farse... A lot of fun and I´m loving it. I´m also about to start HAMLET THE MUSICAL at the Northampton Derngate which again is a comedy!”
