His professional debut was performing Tom Tom in ‘Babes in Toyland’ at the Village Theatre in Seattle

Other theatre credits in Broadway include INTO THE WOODS (2002) GOOD VIBRATIONS (2005) and LENNON (2005). Kimball´s Off-Broadway credits include the 2001 revival of GODSPELL and BAT BOY THE MUSICAL. In 2007 he was part of La Chiusa´s LITTLE FISH next to Alice Ripley and Gregory Jbara.

Currently he plays the role of Huey Calhoun in the new musical by David Bryan and Joe DiPietro MEMPHIS, that opened October 19 at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre in Broadway.


- The first musical you saw and/or most impressed you: CRAZY FOR YOU.

- Webber or Sondheim?  So different, both of them, depends on my mood I guess.

- Do you keep the programmes of the musicals you watch? No.

- The worst moment you’ve had live on the stage was: (as a performer and/or as a spectator) Being two measures behind as an 18 piece orchestra was playing “Joanna” in SWEENEY TODD. Didn’t go over too well...

- An unforgettable moment: (as a performer and/or as a spectator) Curtain call for MEMPHIS looking into the audience and seeing my family and seeing my mom who just beat cancer.

- Do you have any superstitions before the opening night? Nope.

- A musical character that you would like to BE (not perform): John Lennon.

- A character of your opposite sex that you would like to perform: Hellen Keller.

- What do you like best/least about your work? I love the rush. I hate nothing!

- What is your favorite musical movie? SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN.

- The last CD/DVD related to Musicals that you have bought is: Donna Lynne Champlin’s solo album.

- What is your favorite line from a musical? Hockadoo! (MEMPHIS).
