Actor, director and producer Simon Greiff directs the UK premiere of `The Pork Crunch´, a brand new play by rising playwright Adam Hunter.

Adam Hunter has written workshops and was acting coach for The Australian Ballet and The Victorian Department of Education and was a finalist for his short film `Nowhere To Run´at the Courier Mail Short Cut Film Festival. He has appeared as an actor on shows like `City Homicide´, `Eat Carpet´ and is a series regular on `Neighbours´.

`The Pork Crunch´ takes the audience on a 90 minute roller coaster of drugs, desperation and desire leading to the kidnapping of a £3000 fish... The play reflects the trials and tribulations of modern day society and how generation Y deals with a global recession, and stars Mia Austen (recently seen at the Orange Tree Theatre in `Once Bitten´), Adam Hunter, and Roger Woods (seen in STRIKING 12 at Waterloo East Theatre).

Staged last year as a public rehearsed reading at The Brockley Jack Theatre, `The Pork Crunch´ is now being mounted as a full-scale production for the very first time at the Pleasance Theatre, Islington, where it will run from 4th – 15th May 2011.

The play is produced by Wighton St Productions and SimGProductions. However, the severed cuts that has suffered arts funding recently  makes it more difficult to develop new works. With this in mind, Simon Greiff and the creative team of `The Pork Crunch´ have taken it upon themselves to make `The Pork Crunch´ project happen independently and ´create´ their own work. They have initiated a campaign through the website WeFund (http://www.wefund.co.uk/project/uk-premiere-pork-crunch-pleasance-theatre) in order to to raise a further £1000 which will go towards technicians fees, basic props, and actors travel expenses. People who pledge will get something in return: some tickets, programmes, signed photos, etc.

Simon Greiff, director and coproducer of`The Pork Crunch´, as starred as a performer in musicals as SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, SPAMALOT or DIRTY DANCING. He has also worked as a Casting Assistant, working in castings of susical shows as THE LION KING, WE WILL ROCK YOU or BILLY ELLIOT. His most recent work as a director in London was STRIKING 12 at the Waterloo East Theatre on December 2011. With his company SimGProductions he has produced concerts  like ‘Christmas with...’, ‘Just Me… and Them: The Music of Scott Alan’, `Simply the Music of Scott Alan´, `The Songs of Bobby Cronin´ `Stephanie J. Block in concert´ or Stuart Matthew Price´s `All Things In Time´.
