Leanne Jones performs Tracy Turnblad in West End’s HAIRSPRAY. She has won an Olivier this year.

Her professional debut was last year, performing Tracy Turnblad in London’s HAIRSPRAY.

Other Theatre credits include... She has won an Olivier for her performing of Tracy.

Currently she is still performing the same role in Shaftesbury Theatre.

- The first musical you saw and/or most impressed you: First musical, JOSEPH when I was 5, most impressed LES MISERABLES when I was 11, that’s when I realized I wanted to be in Musical Theatre.

- You would like to make a duet with James Morrison singing the song “A Whole New World”

- Webber o Sondheim? Sondheim, his writing is so intricate and clever

- London or New York? New York as I would love to live there and perform on Broadway

- Do you keep the programmes of the musicals you watch? Yes I have bagfuls.

- The worst moment you’ve had live on the stage was: (as a performer and/or as a spectator) Forgetting my lines on stage in HAIRSPRAY

- An unforgettable moment: (as a performer and/or as a spectator) The open Dress of HAIRSPRAY as it was the first time we had an audience

- Do you have any superstitions before the opening night? No but before each performance we do things each night, a secret handshake and certain sayings.

- A musical character that you would like to BE (not perform): Ariel in THE LITTLE MERMAID

- A character of your opposite sex that you would like to perform: Marius in LES MISERABLES, and try to be better than Michael Ball.

- What do you like best/least about your work? I get to sing the amazing Marc Shaiman songs/It gets very hot on Stage

- What is your favorite musical movie? LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

- The last CD/DVD related to Musicals that you have bought is: ‘Spring Awakening’

- What is your favorite line from a musical: “Tell me about is stud” -GREASE

- Agree or disagree with TV Shows finding new Musical Stars: I agree, they are making musical theatre trendy again! Which can only be a positive thing for or industry.

- You feel proud of: Making my Dad so proud and happy.

- Of this moment you’re living as an actor, the most important thing to you is: My Bed + Breakfast, without them I cannot perform ‘Tracy’

- Other projects you are working on: Nothing!!
